libsharedmime is a library for reading freedesktop.orgs shared MIME database. Installation: All that should be required to install this is: make make install Which will put libsharedmime1.so into /usr/local/lib and mime-types.h into /usr/local/include. ToDo: Fix the makefile to have proper dependency handling. Write a ./configure script. Write some docs. Finish the other API functions (what do they actually do?). Test some more. "Works for me". Whats New in This Release: - Added code to check for a text file if the content lookup fails, if it matches it gets a text/plain type. - Stopped the content lookup being performed on directories. - Fixed a bug in the magic matching code that caused valid matches to fail. This means that some files will now return the correct mime type as opposed to a default "not found" type..
