NRPE is an add-on for Nagios that allows you to execute plugins and commands on remote Linux/Unix machines. The project can be installed as a stand-alone daemon or run under inetd/xinetd, with native SSL/TLS encryption. Nagios is an Open Source host, service and network monitoring program. Where can you get it? Right here. Can you get support for it? Yes! Whats New in This Release: - I just released NRPE 2.8b1 for testing. The only significant changes since version 2.7.1 is the addition of new PDF documentation that describes in detail how NRPE works and how to get it installed. Id love to hear what people think of the new installation docs, as I want to make it easy for new folks to get started using the addon.. Nagios is an enterprise-class monitoring solutions for hosts, services, and networks released under an Open Source license.
