CheetahWatch 1.4

This little mac app provides you with signal strength, network mode (GRPS/WCDMA/HSDPA), network name control over your connection, and statistics about your current connection (current throughput, total data transferred, connection time). It does this through a little icon in your menu bar (and a bigger window, if you want to see it), and also helps you keep track of your usage - no need for a nasty surprise from your provider.<br /><br />Menulet SignalWatch See the signal strength and connection mode. No need to guess where to put the modem anymore. The icon in your menu bar gives you at a glance status information.<br /><br />Totals TrafficWatch If you're on a limited data plan, or even just curious, CheetahWatch lets you track your usage. If, however, you don't want to know, turning it off is just a mouse click (or two) away.<br /><br />ConnectionWatch Keep tabs on your connection, see how much data you've pushed through, how long you've been connected, and just how much data you're pushing through. Also see which GSM network you're connected to, no more surprises by connecting while on the wrong network. This version of CheetahWatch does not provide a way to choose alternative networks. This is planned for a future release.<br /><br />ConnectionControl Start and stop your HSDPA connection without needing the OS X Modem menu item.<br /><br />Updates integrated updates check, know that you have the latest version easily.<br /><br />The Source is available (link above), under a BSD-style license. Please see the copyright notice in the CWMain.h/.m & main.m files.<br /><br />Requirements: Huawei E220 or E270 USB HSDPA modem, Mac OS X 10.4 (10.4.10 recommended) or 10.5, Intel or PowerPC Mac, and about 2MB of disk space. Connection log requires additional space depending on your usage pattern. Your modem may require a firmware update to provide full connection statistics.<br /><br />There???*a*?s no way I could???*a*?ve written this if others hadn???*a*?t figured out what bits of the stream coming from the modem mean. I tip my hat to them.
