Beetle Mania!for mac 1.0

Beetle Mania! is a mini-game found in Super Mario RPG. You can purchase the mini-game in Mushroom Kingdom after the Princess has joined your party.<br /><br />I really enjoyed this mini-game when I was younger, so I decided to remake it with a few extra little features of my own.<br /><br />Gameplay<br />The goal of the game is to score as many points as you can in 3 minutes. Move the beetle with your arrow keys and shoot with the spacebar. When you hit a shell, it will explode and has the possibility of starting a chain reaction. The bigger the chain reaction, the more points you'll get! Therefore it isn't always best to mash the spacebar at every shell you see, it might be best to dodge the shells until enough are on the screen to cause a good chain reaction.<br /><br />When the game starts, there will only be one shell on the screen. From this point, for every shell you shoot, two will come back!<br /><br />If your beetle is hit by a shell, don't give up! Tap the spacebar as fast as you can to revive your stunned beetle. The more times your beetle hit by a shell, the harder it is to recover. If you do not recover your beetle in 3 seconds, it will faint, and the game will be over.<br /><br />Be on the lookout for these powerups which will help you:<br /><br />Heart*Heart - this will increase your HP, which will make it easier to recover from being hit by a shell. You can earn a heart if you cause a chain reaction of 10 shells or more.<br />Bob-omb*Bob-omb - this little guy, hanging precariously from Lakitu's fishing pole, is the most helpful item of all. If you see him in the game, shoot him immediately before he disappears! Bob-omb will destroy all shells on the screen, reward you 512 points for each, and reset the shell count to 1. Keep an eye out, Bob-omb doesn't appear often and Lakitu doesn't fly slow!<br /><br /><br />Game Options<br />During your game, you can press the M key to turn off sounds, and the F key to toggle FPS<br /><br />Requirements<br />Because this game was made with Java technology, it can run on Windows, Mac, and Linux!<br /><br />You'll need at least Java version 1.4 with Java Webstart. If the game won't download or doesn't work, head over to java.com and download the latest version.<br /><br />Download<br />During your download, you may see a window similiar to the image below. This is Java's way of reminding you that Java programs are just like normal programs, meaning a malicious programmer could use Java to harm your system. Click on "Run" and the game will start!
