Adaptivetheme is a highly configurable and flexible starter theme for Drupal 6 and 7.Adaptivetheme for Drupal 7 is the base theme for all of our advanced premium Drupal themes.The Drupal 7 version uses HTML5 markup and is designed around the principles of structure and semantics, compatibility and accessibility. Basically this means: 1. Proper use of HTML markup. 2. Works with other technologies. 3. Anyone can use it.Structure is important to both machines (so they can understand what the document is about) and people (proper us of headings is good for accessibility). Compatibility comes at two levels - first with other Drupal modules (works with all modules) and secondly with broader internet technologies like RDFa and microformats. Android and iPhone have excellent support for HTML5 (webkit browsers), as have all modern browsers (including IE9). Adaptivetheme is backward compatible with all versions of Internet Explorer including IE6.The theme has some intrinsic features designed to ease site building, theme development and content creation: 1. Configurable layout. 2. Smart templates, modular CSS, easy sub-theming. 3. Clean administrative sub-theme for end users.The layout can be changed in the theme settings and by using the Skinr module - change the page and sidebar width, sidebar position and block layouts. Adaptivetheme also includes something called Gpanels which are drop in snippets for creating multi-column layouts (such as a 5 column footer), these take seconds to add to the page template if you know how to copy/paste.The templates are very clean and include many features such as context aware wrappers, consistent class naming and full HTML5 compatibility. The HTML is focused on web standards and semantics to improve the output of Drupal and contrib modules. The CSS is modular - meaning there are many small stylesheets instead of one gigantic one. The admin theme is designed to remove clutter and give a clean easy to use UI for content creators.Naturally this theme uses CSS for layout (no tables here...), and is content source ordered.Adaptivetheme also includes optional settings: * Add extra CSS class names via theme settings (nodes, blocks, page, menus, item lists). * Add SPAN elements to menu anchor text (for advanced theming). * Point and click options for breadcrumbs (change the separator, hide the home link, hide all breadcrumbs). * Change the behavior or visibility of the skip navigation. * Configure the output of search results. * Horizontal login block. * Equal height sidebars and blocks.
