This function uses douglas-peucker algorithm to simplify the shape of the polygonsThis algorithm chooses few points from the list of points on the boundary and computes the points that are beyond the tolerance value. it also provides the indices of the pointssyntax [list_pts,pnts]= douglas_peucker(point_list, tolerance);this function uses some other functions that are downloaded from matleb central(such as push and pop), also another function named "normal_dist" that is used to find shortest distance of a point(P) from a line passing through two known points(P1,P2).
