I have long been a fan of the data visualizations done by Martin Wattenberg and Fernanda VidoTegas. Wattenberg created a website in 2007 called Many Eyes - www.many-eyes.com. There he introduced many innovative and beautiful data visualizations for various kinds of data. The Stack Graph is one of my favorites. A version of it was the famous Name Voyager now residing on the Baby Name Wizard site, http://www.babynamewizard.com/voyager#This MATLAB implementation of Stack Graph copies most of the functionality you would see on the Many Eyes site and has the advantage of MATLAB's many abilities to import and represent data.Also included are some sample data sets to get you started. This data is randomly collected and should not be relied upon for accuracy.Getting started should be as easy as:StackGraph('GDP Growth.xls')
