SharpMap is a simple-to-use map renderer that renders GIS data for use in web and desktop applications. The engine is written in C# and based on the .NET 2.0 framework. SharpMap is released under GNU Lesser General Public LicenseFeatures - Embed the engine using any .NET language, including C#, VB.NET and J# - PostGreSQL/PostGIS support - ESRI Shapefile support - Microsoft SQL Server support - Oracle support - OleDB support - Support for WMS layers - Support for MapInfo File, TIGER, S57, DGN, CSV, GML, Interlis 1, Interlis 2, SQLite and ODBC through a third-party plugin. - Support for ECW and JPEG2000 raster images (and most other formats through a third-party plugin) - Windows Forms user control with dynamic pan and zoom - HttpHandler for ASP.NET applications - Support for Points, Linestings, Polygons, MultiPoints, MultiLineStrings and MultiPolygons, GeometryCollections etc. according to the OpenGIS Simple Features Specification. - Renders attributes as labels - Advanced thematic maps using delegates - On-the-fly transformations - Can act as a WMS1.3.0 server using only a few lines of code - Easy extensible with additional dataproviders, layertypes and geometry types - Fast and great-looking anti-aliased maps using native GDI functions. Customize the rendering using all the GDI brushes and pens. - Completely written in C# .NET 2.0
