File extension database with complete windows integration for unknown documents and files

SearchExt is a standalone application as well as a fully integrated file context menu extension to search for unknown documents and files with its extensions of unknown or maybe dangerous files on your windows system.

Actually more than 6.100 file extensions with its description and assigned applications are in the SearchExt list which can be updated via internet.

In the main program you can search for your unknown extension and will get a result list of all found extensions as well as the assigned applications you can use to open and work with the unknown document even though you do not need to have them installed.

Beside the assigned application you will get the "long" file type explanation (i.e. office document, system filem, virus file) and the information on which platforms (Windows, Linux/Unix, Apple Macintosh, OS/2) the assigned programs are available.

Special feature is the fully integrated file extension search engine simple accessible in the right-click context menu of each file. Show the "long" file description and all possible assigned applications of thousands of extensions for your selected document everywhere in your windows system (windows explorer, desktop).

You can easy update the extension list via internet just by clicking the download button in the SearchExt main program.
