GNUMP3d 3.0

GNUMP3d is a streaming server for MP3s, OGG vorbis files, movies and other media formats.

It is designed to be:

* Small, stable, portable, self-contained, and secure.
* Simple to install, configure, and use.
* Portable across different varieties of Unix, the GNU Operating System, and Microsoft Windows platforms.

GNUMP3d v3.0 Released

The current stable release of GNUMP3d is v3.0, which was released upon the 18th of October 2007.

This new release features only a couple of small bugfixes and the removal of obsolete and broken code. (Notably the previous password protection was removed entirely from the project.)

In the past five years I've had an awful lot of fun working on this project, learned an awful lot of things. However I feel that the world has moved on from my little project, and future development of this code is extremely unlikely.

It is possible there will be a new project with the same name with neater, tighter, and better code with an SQLite database backend, etc, but there are no immediate plans to start such development.
