AUTHENTIC 2004 is a browser-enabled XML document editor, allowing business users to seamlessly capture information directly into XML, for use in XML document management systems, web publishing, or knowledge management applications. AUTHENTIC 2004 empowers business users to capture both data and content directly into XML through a visual interface, enabling transformation and reuse of corporate knowledge. AUTHENTIC includes numerous new features including automatic calculation of form fields and business logic validation based on XPath, support for more complex table structures, enhanced input formatting, and a Date/Time user-interface control. Data and content gathered by AUTHENTIC 2004 can be saved to any content management system, database, or XML repository, for later retrieval or transformation. The AUTHENTIC word-processor-like XML editor supports free-flow WYSIWYG text editing, form-based data input, graphical elements, presentation and editing of arbitrary repeating XML elements as tables, support for HTML and CALS Tables for advanced document layouts, real-time validation, and consistency checking using XML Schema, spell checking and more. AUTHENTIC's visual approach to content editing eliminates all of the technical details of XML from business users. Only AUTHENTIC 2004 fully takes advantage of the rich editing possibilities of XML and XSLT, which are not possible using simple HTML forms. AUTHENTIC Forms are the customizable, user-interfaces through which a user interacts with AUTHENTIC to capture any content - web page content, datasheets, documentation, research reports, press releases, news articles, engineering specifications, and more - directly into XML. AUTHENTIC 2004 is designed to work in conjunction with the leading content management systems in a variety of different modes, and is therefore available as Desktop Edition or Browser Edition. All editions of AUTHENTIC 2004 are offered under a free software licensing model.
