Pendulum is a small application written in Java that allows you to explore the evolution of a chain of elastically coupled pendulums. Mathematically, it provides some insight into the dynamics of the Sine-Gordon equation.

The motion of the pendulums is determined by their positions at time 0 and at time 1, which can be thought of as corresponding to the initial positions and velocities. In fact, at time 0 the pendulums are all hanging down (angle zero) and you are given control over their positions at time 1. Thus, physically speaking, the system is initially at rest and you set it in motion by prescribing nonzero initial velocities.
