VLevel is a dynamic compressor that amplifies the quiet parts of music. VLevel project uses a look-ahead buffer to provide gradual changes, and never causes clipping. A command line filter and a LADSPA plugin are provided, and XMMS is supported. Installation: To build it, type "make". To install it, login as root (type "su") and type "make install". You can change where it is installed by editing Makefile before doing the above. I test VLevel on a Linux system, but it should build on any similar system. It should compile on Windows, but it wont be very useful until I write a Ruby script with a nice cross-platform GUI and SOX integration. Whats New in This Release: - VLevel 0.5 contains a redesigned LADSPA plugin that now has both mono and stereo modes. As before, the command line version can use any number of channels. The documentation is also updated. Ive done more extensive testing, and I cant find anything wrong. (Feedback, good or bad, is appreciated.. Get VLevel at SourceForge.net.
