curl and libcurl is a tool for transferring files using URL syntax. It supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, FTPS, DICT, TELNET, LDAP, FILE, and GOPHER, as well as HTTP-post, HTTP-put, cookies, FTP upload, resumed transfers, passwords, portnumbers, SSL certificates, Kerberos, and proxies. curl and libcurl is powered by libcurl, the client-side URL transfer library. There are bindings to libcurl for over 20 languages and environments.. curl is a command line tool for transferring files with URL syntax, supporting FTP, FTPS, SCP, SFTP, HTTP, HTTPS, TFTP, TELNET, DICT, LDAP, LDAPS and FILE. Curl supports HTTPS certificates, HTTP POST, HTTP PUT, FTP uploading, kerberos, HTTP form based upload, proxies, cookies, user+password authentication, file transfer resume, http proxy tunneling and a busload of other useful tricks
