GNU Ocrad is an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) program implemented as a filter and based on a feature extraction method. Also includes a layout analyser able to separate the columns or blocks of text normally found on printed pages. Ocrad can be used as a stand-alone console application, or as a backend to other programs. Whats New in This Release: - The license has been updated to GPL version 3 or later. - The "--scale" option no longer suppresses ORF output. - The removal of thick frames has been improved. - "Textline" now accepts more than one big initial. - The files "configure" and "Makefile.in" have been modified to be more GNU-standards compliant..
