EditLive! for Java is a cross platform, browser-based WYSIWYG content authoring tool which enables non-technical users to contribute content to web-based enterprise applications. It extends EditLive!'s content authoring capabilities to MAC OS X and Sun Solaris 8 users. EditLive! for Java can deploy content to multiple sites or devices (eg. WAP devices).
EditLive! for Java upholds the technical standards of Java 2 (J2SE and J2EE), XML 1.0, XHTML 1.0, HTML 3.2 and HTTP/1.1.

Ephox provides EditLive! for Java SDK Editions for a number of different Web Application Servers including Microsoft IIS 4.0 or greater (running Scripting Engine 5.0+), J2EE-based servers including BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Sun iPlanet, and Macromedia Cold Fusion, PHP and Perl.

EditLive! for Java coupled with your existing, or new, Web applications or content management systems provide a comprehensive solution for business user content contribution. By enabling business users to contribute content in a familiar interface, EditLive! for Java increases employee productivity and minimizes ‘ramp-up’ time. By leveraging your existing Web application infrastructure EditLive! for Java speeds your time to market and reduces costs.

The installed size of EditLive! for Java on the client is 390kb. The download URL above is for the IIS Edition SDK and includes all necessary developer documentation. EditLive! for Java also has a J2EE Edition SDK, available from http://www.ephox.com/download/elj/editlivejavaj2eesetup.zip (21.1MB), and new to Version 1.5 is the JavaScript Edition SDK, available from http://www.ephox.com/download/elj/editlivejavajssetup.zip (20.7MB).
