Delta Forth is a simplified dialect of the Forth programming language. Since it is a compiled language, many of the traditional Forth concepts related to chained execution of words have been removed. Delta Forth for Java has been around since 1997. At that time it was a premiere, as the first compiler to target the Java platform. Today, Delta Forth .NET is the first compiler to target Microsoft's newest platform. Delta is great for academic environments or anywhere Forth is the language of choice.
