TaxiMeter is a "free app" that converts your Windows Phone into a "Pseudo Taxi Meter." Use it when traveling to keep your cab driver honest, track your business mileage, or simply send a message to your friends who constantly ask for rides.
It's as easy as 1-2-3!
1) Start by selecting your rate mode. Common modes are NY Cabbie, IRS Business, or Gas Cost Only.
2) Optionally set your destination. Search using Bing or select from your custom presets. Bing Search allows you to specify a either an address or description and select from a list of potential matches.
3) Start the Meter.
Along the way, TaxiMeter will:
Accumulate your fare based on the time and distance traveled based on your selected mode. (e.g. NY Cabbie rate is $2.50 to start, plus $.40 per 1/5th of a mile or idle minute if not moving).
Plot your actual path on a map along with a proposed route including turn by turn directions. At any time, you can recalculate your route from your current position and update your estimated arrival time.
Maintain 30 days of history for later retrieval along with detailed information such as the actual path taken, start / stop times, addresses, total distance, fare, and elapsed time.
Simple User Interface with Large Buttons. Just click the Green Button to Start and the Red Button to Stop.
View Trip History. Email individual trips or a complete trip log back to your saved email address.
Maintain a List of Common Destinations.
Customize or Add operating Modes. Each mode can have different mileage, distance rates, and runtime options.
Save your preferences for runtime options.
Built-in Energy Saver Feature allows your phone to go to sleep or be interrupted while in use. (go ahead and make calls or freely switch to other apps). Upon reactivating, TaxiMeter will simply backtrack to your last known location and fill in the blanks.
So who's your cabbie? TaxiMeter!!!
