# Auto Loan Calculator 1.0.0

Date Added: May 27, 2007  |  Visits: 7.884

Auto Loan Calculator is a free Microsoft Excel workbook that lets you (1) estimate the amount you'll need to finance when purchasing a car, (2) create a loan payment schedule with optional extra payments, and (3) analyze different loan options.

The Auto Loan Calculator worksheet helps you estimate the amount you will need to finance, based on the sales price, destination charge, state sales tax, registration and other fees, down payment, manufaturer rebate, and value of your trade-in auto.

The Payment Calculator worksheet creates an amortization schedule based on the loan amount, interest rate, term (e.g. 3 years), and frequency of payments (e.g. monthly). Use the spreadsheet to see how extra payments may help you reduce the total interest paid and pay off your loan earlier.

Quickly analyze different loan options using the third worksheet, which contains graphs showing you how different interest rates, down payment, or number of payments affect the total amount of interest and your monthly payment.

Features:
- No installation, no macros, no ads
- Save your results as different workbooks for comparing options
- Get help with terminology using the many cell comments
- Detailed calculator helps you see the "hidden" costs of purchasing a car
- Complete flexibility in making extra payments

1. Use the Auto Loan Calculator worksheet to calculate the amount you will need to finance, based on the sales price of the car, destination charge, fees, sales tax, down payment, cash rebate, and trade-in value of an older auto.

2. Use the Payment Calculator worksheet to create an amortization table based on the auto loan amount, annual interest rate, term of the loan, and payment frequency. See how making extra payments can help you pay off your car loan early and reduce the amount of total interest paid.

3. The third worksheet (Loan Comparisons) takes the inputs from the loan payment calculator and creates graphs showing you how different interest rates, number of payments, or the amount of down payment affect the monthly payment and total amount of interest.
