ZBackup is a multiplatform lightweight modular open source backuping tool for more experienced users (aka powerusers). it was developped to suite my needs. i wanted it to be: multiplatform - ZBackup works on windows, linux and probably some other platform lightweight - ZBackup is not client-server soft. it is not network optimized. its purpouse is not backuping whole systems. just data on single computers. modular - every user has its own ideas, how the backuping should look like. ZBackup implements 3 types of plugins. combinations of these plugins should satisfy (almost) everybody. for decising what to backup, where to store backuped files and how make a record of a backup. open source - ZBackup is released under GNU General Public Licence. it allows you to copy/modify/distribute ZBackup. poweruser oriented - ZBackup has no gui. it is configured via config file written in xml. i wanted the user to have full controll over backuping process, so i tried to make everything configurable.
