Coadunation OS 2.0 Alpha 1

Coadunation OS is a web-based OS (operating system). This means that all applications are available through a web browser from anywhere via an easy to use desktop. No longer will you be locked out of your desktop.<br /><br />Using Coadunation OS it is possible to access your files and information from anywhere, send and receive email, manage your network, add Wiki entries and lots more...<br /><br />Installation:<br /><br /># Download<br /># Run the install package.<br /><br />On Unix:<br /><br />bash# java -jar CoadunationOS_Install_1.0.B2.jar<br /><br />In Windows simply double click on the file.<br /><br />Note: This requires a graphical display to install<br /><br /># The install will prompt for the following instance information:<br /><br /> * Coadunation Instance Id<br /> This is the unique ID of this Coadunation instance. It can be the hostname of the box it is being installed on or some other id of the users choosing.<br /> * Administrator password<br /> The password for the administrator of this instance.<br /> * Name Server IP<br /> This is the IP address of the Server that the internal DNS server will defer to, if the information is not local and if the recurse flag in the configuration is set to true. Our suggestion is to use your ISP's name server IP address.<br /> * SMTP Relay<br /> Supply this value if this SMTP server is not directly on the internet, our suggestion is to use your ISP's smtp server name here.<br /><br />If it is directly connected to the internet, than the host value for the "HELO" request will have to be correctly set in the DeliverRemote section of the configuration file and this left blank(This must be done after install).<br /><br />Note: The server does not support any form of SMTP authentication at this stage.<br /><br /> * Webmail Domain<br /> This is the domain that will be used by the Webmail interface when sending messages. There can currently only be one domain per web mail interface.<br /><br /># Start Coadunation OS<br /><br />Coadunation OS must be started as root or have administrator privileges. This is because it access low range ports for the DNS and Mail Servers.<br />The start script is found in the bin directory of the install.<br /><br /> * To run it on unix:<br /><br /> bash# cd {install dir}/bin<br /> bash# ./run.sh<br /> * To run it on Windows simply double click on the run.bat file in the bin directory.<br /><br /># Launch a web browser and go to you desktop. This will be available on port 8080 on the box that the instance has been installed on.<br /><br />Example URL: http://localhost:8080<br /><br />At this point in time you will be asked for a username and a password. Default admin user name is simply admin the password will be the one provided during installation.
