jRate (Java Real-Time Extension) is an extension of the GNU GCJ compiler front-end and runtime system which adds support for most of the features required by the Real-Time Specification for Java (RTSJ). Many portions of jRate are being developed using Generative Programming techniques. One of the goals of the project is that of providing users with the ability of "generating" the version of jRate that better fits their target system and use cases. We are also interested in providing advanced scheduling services and a higher-level programming model.
