xml2txt 6.0

The script xml2txt converts a valid XML document to formatted text. You would use this script if you needed to convert XML to a plain text document and you needed the text formatted in a special way.<br /><br />The script offers the following formatting options:<br /><br /> * Create blocks of text with a desired length, such as 70 characters.<br /> * Add as many newlines before or after blocks as needed.<br /> * Indent blocks from the left and right.<br /> * Indent the first line of a block, including hanging indents.<br /> * Put spaces before and after blocks.<br /> * Create borders before and after text, including the option to make the border as long as the text itself.<br /> * Create blocks that will not be formatted at all, as for examples for code.<br /> * Create boxes around text.<br /> * Create tables, including tables with merged cells.<br /><br />In order to have the script work, you must first convert your XML to valid XML according to the DTD provided with this script. When you run the resulting XML through the script, you will get formatted text. In order to complete step 1 you need to perform some type of XSLT transformation.
