The iPhone, iPod, and iPad provide enormous potential and a powerful platform for watching Movies and TV Shows that you have saved on your Mac, but the hassles involved with copying your video files to your iPhone greatly limit your ability to realize this potential. Most movie collections are far too big to copy over to the iPhone's limited space, and the process of synchronizing many gigabytes (or even terabytes) of video data can be prohibitively time-consuming.<br /><br />We need a better way. We want to be able to stream our videos to our mobile devices on demand.<br /><br />A second problem is that any videos that you purchase from the iTunes store (or on your AppleTV) are protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management), and this prevents you from copying the video to other devices or transcoding it into different formats. Most solutions for streaming video to your iPhone/iPad don't address this issue. They simply include a disclaimer that their product won't work with DRM protected videos. So if half of your video collection was purchased from iTunes, then you're out of luck for streaming it with most existing solutions.
