XidPack 1.10

The principle of the cross-identification (XId) of two catalogs of stars, is the extraction of the list of stars listed in both catalogs and the association of the measurements made from both observations. In a way, it consists of merging the two catalogs in a larger one while keeping all the information.<br /><br />I wrote the first version of this program during my draft that I did at the "Institut d'Astrophysiques" of Paris. The current version is in language C and it is a complete rewriting of the original code: the algorithms are the same but the code is more clear and better structured easing the code maintenance.<br /><br />From two tables listing at least the (x,y) coordinates of the stars, the software corrects the problems of offset (from the pointing imprecisions of the telescope) and distortion (from the possible deformations of the detectors) between the two coordinate systems, then it founds and lists the associations as well as the stars observed only in one of the two catalogs.
