The autolocale module and enclosed localized install profile provides a profile to automatically import interface translations in install time and later when modules are enabled / disabled.Most of the module's functionality (with better implementation) is built into Drupal 6, so there will be no release of this module for Drupal 6. Import and update functionality for translations is maintained in the Localization update module.
