This is a Drupal module wrapper for the jQuery jHeartbeat plug-in (created by Jason Levine and customized by A J Richards). This plug-in makes it possible to poll the server at given intervals.UPDATE: the current release 5.x-1.2 of this module is now based on a slightly modified version of the jHeartbeat v0.2.0. The modifications included a new "startstop()" method which allows you to control the plug-in once it is running. There is also a new "replace" property flag which allows you to control whether the plug-in will use the jQuery ".append()" or ".html()" method to append/replace data into the DOM. Please look at the demo to see how this works.
