Simply stated, Foing is a mp3-database aimed at the international pop underground. Its main feature is that it can reproduce a playlist (m3u or pls format) with mp3's with mp3s located all over the web. Among others, users can add songs to the foing database, giving Foing an interactive, ever-growing character. Features: - Integrates with phpBB 2.0.x, taking advantage of its user system, database abstraction layer and its template system. - Flash MX mp3 player that streams MP3s directly from the Internet. - Its colours can be set in Foing. - 'Reports' to the database if an MP3 fails to load. - Stores only the MP3 information (such as URL, artist name, song title, album, genre, size, quality, length) in the database, not the MP3 itself. - Users can add MP3's themselves through a getID3() powered script. (Foing fills the fields that are present in the id3(v2) header of the MP3 in automatically) - Easy MP3 database browsing: - list sorting by all its fields. - filtering of the fields artist, genre and status. - One-click M3U / PLS playlist file creation. - Online user-playlists: - users can create their own playlists online that contain their favorite songs. - moderators can set playlists to become 'featured'. - Individual artist and MP3 pages. A description can be added to both. - Moderator / administrator features: - phpBB-like Administration panel. - a phpBB usergroup can be selected to become the Foing moderator group. - Adjustable user-level required to add MP3's (either anonymous, registered user, moderator or administrator) - Adjustable MP3 statusses. - can be set to either public or not (i.e. visible for everyone or not) . - the featured, pending and failed to load (in the Flash player) can be set individually. - Adjustable genres (Foing has the 147 Id3 genres listed in standard). - Easy artist / album management. - Mass-update capability while browsing the MP3 list.
