DriveCrypt securely and easily protects all proprietary data on notebooks and desktop computers 100% of the time without users having to worry about security. Any organization, from a small company to a large international firm with thousands of users in the field, can effectively protect business plans, client lists, product specifications, confidential corporate memos, stock information, and much more with this product. As data is read from the hard disk, DriveCrypt automatically decrypts the data before it is loaded into memory. When data is written back to the hard disk, it is automatically re-encrypted. The encryption/decryption process is completely transparent to the user or any application program - the data is caught "on-the-fly" as it transfers back and forth between the hard disk and memory. Consequently, users don't need to remember to decrypt or re-encrypt their data, or change the normal operation of the PC. In addition, only individual files are decrypted at any given time, not the whole hard disk.

A few month ago I installed DriveCrypt 4.61, latest version, also compatible with Vista 32 and 64 bit and I must say this is an excellent software, easy to install and use. I like the build in features which help you to improve the security such as "The Red Low Level Message Screen", "The Lockout Console" and also the fact that you have the possibility to use different hardware devices, in addition to the used pass phrase. I also find that DriveCrypt`s Traveller Mode is a very useful feature; you can work with an encrypted volume on a host PC without having to install the software on it. So, all in all, this is what makes this product a valuable one to have and use.

DriveCrypt is a very good software easy to install and use, even for not so high qualified users. I`m having it installed on my PC since last year and I had no problems using it. However at the beginning of using the software I contacted several times the customer support and they have been very helpful answering to all my questions clearly and quickly. About the features I like at this software I can write several here: the software is giving you the possibility of using up to 4 passwords for each encrypted volume (container) "The Red Low Level Message Screen" (you can avoid the possibility of keyboard messages, between Win and the application, being copied by another program or process or sniffer), "The Lockout Console" function which allows you to block the console access to your computer, whenever you need to leave it alone for a while and you can use different hardware devices to improve the security, in addition to the pass phrase used.

I was looking for a software package that would provide decent on the fly encryption independent of windows, with good performance being the priority. There are a variety of encryption methods to choose from and the performance varies a great deal from one method to another. So I contacted their online chat support and asked them what seemed to be a simple question; "Which encryption method is fastest?" They had no idea. I would *never* buy from a company whose support is ignorant of such basic information about their own product. Not even having something as simple as benchmark data. Be WARNED!
