Organizing a golf tournament can be a very complex endeavor, as anyone who has tackled the job will know. The SandBagger is aimed at taking the pain out of all aspects of tournament organization, from registration to scoring. Because of its unique features, it is ideally suited for just about any kind of golf event/competition. However, it is not intended for commercial use. We have tried to make the new SandBagger Version 10 as comprehensive and intuitive as possible, with a simple user friendly graphics interface and help files available every step of the way. We have incorporated extensive changes in this version, including an Optical Mark Reader (OMR) option for entering scores and a Quick Access menu to allow users to navigate quickly to options for configured competitions. The SandBagger also includes the tried and proven proprietary HHL handicapping system for scrambles which allows you to automatically generate realistic handicaps for teams with any combination of player capabilities. Several advanced utilities are also included in the SandBagger, which can be activated by registered users - see the Technical Notes page for more details) The SandBagger originated over 25 years ago as a Paradox-based application to support the golf organizing efforts of a large social club. Over the years, we have enhanced and migrated that original application to Microsoft Access © based software, and along the way our users have used it to manage many, many tournaments. Why Access? Simply put, it offers the richest user-friendly environment we have found, even though packaging it has not been easy (installation of the SandBagger has a few restrictions - see the Download page for more information). Although setting up your first event/competition may seem like a lot of work, it will pay off in the end. Use this application for the next tournament you hold, and we hope you will be impressed. FEATURES: · Define any number of golf tournament Events; · Configure golf facilities which will be used for Event Competitions; · Configure any number of Event Competitions (over multiple days if needed – useful for long duration events such as league play). Medal (individual and two person team), Four Person Team and Stableford competitions are supported, but match play is not. All competitions can be configured in flights, and for separate men's and ladies' competitions. This application cannot be used to create official player handicap factors, but for players without handicaps, it will create an equivalent factor for each using the player's average score. · Enter registration information for each event, entering player information to the level of detail required (a comprehensive player information database capability is included) ; · Score each competition, using the handicapping methods shown above. If you have a portable scanner (Plustek M12 or equal), you can enter hole scores via Optical Mark Recognition cards (a card template is supplied with the SandBagger software); · Generate a large variety of reports through each step of the event (e.g. configuration, registration, tee assignment, scoring). You can also print a variety of player labels, and export player and event data to an Excel spreadsheet or an Access database.
