A 32-bit console-mode file manager for Win95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP. The program is designed to look and function in a manner similar to the XTreeGold program, offering a wide range of disk & file management features in a familiar form. This release includes dozens of fixes and enhancements since v1.51, including Graft across drives, Application Menu multi-file support, Macro enhancements, Viewer unicode modes. Free upgrade for existing licensed users.

ZTreeWin is a text-mode file/directory manager for all versions of Windows 95 and later (95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP & VISTA). Sorry, it does not run under DOS!
It has been developed as the successor to the legendary DOS file-manager XTreeGold (tm), which its owners have abandoned in today's GUI-centric computing world.
Anyone who has used that remarkable program would be aware of its superior capabilities as a text-mode, tree-structured file-manager - but would also likely be aware that its limited memory support, and lack of long filename support are today a major issue.
ZTreeWin is a 32-bit Windows program that has been developed to provide all the powerful functionality of the past (and much more!), while avoiding the limitations of the old DOS-based program.

OK, there is a learning curve. It is intuitive, but you need to spend some time mastering the rich feature set. I used to use XtreeGold in the 1980/90's and this uses the same GUI/keyboard set... but it's so much more. Any Windows GUI file manager today can not compete. If you want to find the oldest/newest/largest file on your hard drive or network... no problem. If you want to rename all the files in a directory to something... no problem. If you want to compare two directories or drives... no problem. View zipped files without opening them... Built in hex editor... and so much more. You have to try this! (Persevere... it's worth it!)

ZTREE is so much better than Symantec's Xtree for DOS that I mailed ZTREE's author an extra $40 cash as a special thank you. Once you try ZTREE you'll wonder how you ever lived without it. Intuitively simple to install and use!
