Twelfth Root is an easy to use program that makes visual representations of music to allow even the tone deaf to learn to play their favourite songs.

You give it a piece of music in the form of a wav file(see below for details) and it, after some processing, displays a 'picture' of that music. It shows the music from the start (at the left) to the end at the right.

Any point where a note is played/sung a brighter area is shown the higher on the screen the higher the note. The brighter it is the more powerful (louder) that note. Reference lines show the frequency of 12 note equal temperament chromatic scale (normal notes to the non-pedant) and 1 second durations.

You may drag a selection and use the menu to play just the selected part.
