Studio is an authoring tool for adding custom tactile feedback to applications running on hardware containing Immersion's TouchSense technology.

MOTIV Studio is a Windows-based tool that allows you to design your own custom Haptic sensations. MOTIV Studio is designed for use with handsets that include the TouchSense Player.

The MOTIV Studio package also contains APIs and documentation for implementing haptics in applications for other operating systems, like Java Mobile Edition or Windows CE. Any Android developer will simply need to focus on this application then easily design the effects they want.

When you have defined the sensations, you use MOTIV Studio to export your haptic effect resource file (called an IVT file) which contains all the effects you've defined.

You then include this file in your application's resources and pass the IVT data to the UHL's MOTIV API to invoke playback of one or more of the effects contained in the IVT file in the same way that effects from the standard effect library are invoked.
