When releasing apps for current generations of Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod devices, software developers are required to use a certain set of icons meeting Apple's strict Custom Icon and Image Creation Guidelines. As a bare minimum, one needs an application icon and a launch image. However, Apple recommends that apps provide several additional images, such as an icon to be used by iOS when showing Spotlight search results and Settings. Apps that can handle certain file types (such as documents, tunes, or video formats) will need images to represent their supported file types. Most apps will also require a fair share of icons to draw their navigation bars, tab bars and toolbars.

Technically, there are 713 unique app icons created in matching style in PNG and PSD formats. The sizes for navigation bars of the following devices are available: 20x20 and 40x40 pixels (high resolution) for iPhone and iPod touch, 20x20 pixels for i Pad. The tab bar sizes include a 30x30 pixels icons for iPad and 30x30 and 60x60 pixels icons for iPhone and iPod touch.
