This is a great editor. Though the listing here seems to be out of date. The current version isn't 3.1 but 3.5... and it *DO* have help files.

I've been using UltraEdit for a couple of years but I needed something that wasn't limited to 10 custom tools. After a quick search over the web I found Source Edit. SE is an excellent tool it doesn't have the limitation of 10 tools that UE has. It's syntax highlighter is very nice and fast and it supports a wide range of programming languages. It's also very easy to add syntax highlighters for any language that might be missing or if you want to edit an existing one. All other features that we all require from a tool like this exists, such as unlimited undo/redo, the ability to show line numbers, recording and playback of keyboard macros. SE even remembers the macros between sessions. I also like the tool called "Code Template Manager" which allows you to give some code a short name. You can then simply type the name and hit a shortcut key and the name is replaced with the code. SE is also very easy to use even though it lacks help files which is a drawback. Some more advanced tools really needs to be documented. However there is some help on the website which also includes a forum and the author always seams to answer all question very fast. If you need a code editor I highly recommend trying this product.
