The Solid Capture utility is a great and inexpensive alternative to some of the higher-priced screen capture programs available today. It's very easy to use with practically no learning curve. The interface is intuitive and unobtrusive; I like the way it lets you quickly customize the type of capture you need (full screen, window, marquis) without the need for major reconfiguration (unlike my other higher-priced program). This is a great product for any technical communications professional -- I highly recommend it!

Easy to use and this program utilizes the .png format. No loss due to compression and is more like a GIF but isn't limited to a small color pallette. Easy to use and when the desire to customize is there - the ability to do so is also there. Easy to snap webpages instead of saving them and getting the actual layout. Excellent for help documents since pull down menus and cursor locations can be captured as well.
